Day 3: Amman – Kerak (Mutah & Al Mazar: Al Sahaba tombs) – Tafilah (Harith bin Umayr al-Azdi tomb) – Petra
After breakfast, drive to the complex lies 140 km south of Amman in the governorate of Kerak, in Southern Mazar, where the Battle of Mutah took place. They were buried in a region near to the battleground, where the town of Mazar later sprang up. This region of Mutah (Mazar) is famous for its mausoleums of companions and martyrs and is itself a sanctuary to which groups of visitor’s flocks ( Zayd ibn Harithah was the first commander killed during the battle & Jaffar ibn Abi Talib, also known as Ja'far al-Tayyar, was the son of Abu Talib ibn Abdul Muttalib , the Prophet's uncle and the elder brother of the fourth caliph of Islam, Ali ibn Abi Talib & Abd Allah ibn Rawahah was third in command during the Battle of Mu'tah and was subsequently killed in the battle).
Then you next the Tafilah region on the King's Highway to visit the shrine of Harith bin Umair Al-Azdi. The complex is located 210 km south of Amman. The companion Harith bin Umair Al-Azdi was the Prophet's messenger to the king of Basra in Al-Sham. When he reached Tafilah, Sharahbil bin Amr Al-Ghassani, the ruler of Mu'tah, killed him. This event is one of the causes of the famous invasion of Mutah. Continue to Petra for overnight at your hotel
